Getting started

Sign up for free at testfit.io/urban-planner and locate your parcel on the built-in satellite map; the tool automatically imports cadastral data for the area. From there you define general plan parameters: street width and hierarchy, average block size, and the percentage of land devoted to public space and trees. TestFit automatically generates the street network with its intersections, the resulting subdivision and a first zoning proposal. You can iterate by changing any parameter and see the plan recalculated instantly, and export the result to Revit or SketchUp. If you need to design the buildings on those parcels (units, floors, parking), that step belongs to the paid Site Solver module.

1. Street layout parameters
   Street width, hierarchy (main/secondary) and intersection shapes are generated automatically and can be adjusted block by block.
2. Zoning from the start
   The plan applies basic zoning rules (heights, setbacks) from the first layout, instead of checking them afterward.

Tips

• Start with the general street layout before refining trees and public space: changing the streets later forces you to redo everything else.
• Use the built-in cadastral data as a starting point and verify it against local regulations before an official submission.
• If the project moves on to building design, export the plan to Revit/SketchUp or continue directly in Site Solver to keep the geometry.
