Getting started

Go to suno.com and create a free account. On the main screen, write a description of the song style you want (genre, mood, theme) or paste your own lyrics directly, then hit generate: in under a minute you get two complete versions of the song, with music and vocals. You can listen to them, download them or keep editing them. No musical knowledge is needed: the more specific you are about genre, instrumentation and emotion, the closer the result will be to what you have in mind.

Advanced setup

1. Create and use a Persona
   Save your own vocal fingerprint as a Persona to reuse the same voice across different songs, keeping a project or a whole album consistent.
2. Remix
   Open Remix from the three-dot menu of a generated song: you can change the genre, adjust the production, change the vocal performance with a Persona, or keep the structure while changing the overall tone.
3. Extend a song
   From the three-dot menu, select "Extend" and specify the point (for example, 1:50) where you want the song to continue.
4. Stem separation (Stems)
   Extract a specific instrument or vocal from the mix, getting two tracks: the selected one and the rest. Suno Studio can split up to 12 individual stems, available on the Pro and Premier plans.

Tips

• Describe the genre and mood with concrete musical vocabulary ("melancholic acoustic ballad", "energetic 80s synthpop") instead of vague descriptions.
• If you like a song but the voice doesn't fit, use Remix with a different Persona instead of regenerating the whole song from scratch.
• Use Extend when you like the structure but need the song to run longer, instead of generating a completely new version.
• For projects with several songs that need to sound cohesive, create a Persona once and reuse it on all of them.
• If you need professional remixing (raising or lowering the vocals, changing the bass), use Suno Studio with stem separation instead of editing the full audio.
